Just found out this morning... The History Press wants to "go forward" with my book about Buddy Schumacher, an 8-year-old boy who was killed in 1925 in my hometown, Wauwatosa, Wis., and some of the good that eventually came out of it. I'm pretty excited about it.

Sadly, I was just notified that Kristen Day Hewett died March 2nd from complications of lupus. The visitation will take place from 1-4 pm this Saturday March 10 at St. Matthews Church in Wauwatosa.

Thanks for posting that story, Joe! I'd read it the other day. It's a good one. Talks about the tunnel, the third-floor, the old tower, the history of the high school buildings, and other school buildings at that intersection, what the future may hold and why, etc.

Bobby Tanzillo does a great job writing his stories on old buildings/history in the Milwaukee area. I actually worked with him many moons ago at the Milwaukee Sentinel.
